Kate PhillipsKate Phillips spearheads PLP’s efforts recruiting complementary talent (compliance associates, compliance analysts and paralegals) for funds and financial institutions. Kate started her career in sales with the Gillette Company. As a sales manager for Gillette, she was responsible for increasing sales in her area by recruiting and building a highly successful team. Kate quickly realized that she enjoyed recruiting and made the move to recruit for a growing defense contractor in the Washington, DC area. In her three years there she was very successful, recruiting over 130 people with a turnover average of only 7% when the industry average was 25%, a direct reflection of her efforts to navigate past a person’s skill set and abilities to learn what qualities and traits they possessed that matched the position and were consistent with company culture. Kate and her husband, Matt, moved to New Jersey over three years ago and she started her own recruiting business focused on the financial compliance arena. She joined PLP in the spring of 2007. Kate earned her B.S. in Chemistry and Spanish from the University of Richmond.
